Equipment

  • Drinking glass of choice I use a pint glass
  • Drinking straw to stir & sip (optional)

Ingredients

  • 150 ml orange juice (5 fl. oz)
  • 250 ml coconut water (9 fl. oz)
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  • Add a pinch of good quality salt, such as Pink Himalayan or Celtic sea salt to a glass of your choice.
  • Fill the glass 1/3 of the way with orange juice.
Ideally the orange juice is a brand that’s freshly squeezed and not from concentrate.
  • Top up the rest of the glass with coconut water and then use a straw or a spoon to give it a good stir.
    Sip and enjoy!

Notes

Orange Juice
Orange juice provides a dose of Vitamin C and natural sugars, which help your body recover after strenuous activity.
Try and use a good quality brand of orange juice that contains 100% pure or freshly squeezed orange juice, with no added sugars.
Coconut Water
Coconut water helps to replenish fluids and minerals lost when we sweat. It contains potassium, magnesium, calcium and sodium.
Salt
When we sweat we lose sodium from our bodies. Adding a pinch of good quality salt to your electrolyte drink helps to replenish some of the sodium we have lost.
Avoid using table salt if possible, as this would have been heavily processed and striped of its natural minerals.
Use a good quality Celtic sea salt or Pink Himalayan instead, as they will contain higher levels of minerals due to a minimal amount of processing.
