Play in Choc Box
No Christmas stocking would be complete without some chocolate inside. This cute little box contains an allergen free chocolate and a little 3D puzzle of an endangered animal, or a Christmas theme figure like the snowman below. It’s a great little activity if your child needs a quiet moment on Christmas Day. The puzzle can also be recycled when it’s no longer being used.

Personalised Christmas Ornament
My mother in law gets my daughter a personalised tree ornament every year for Christmas, which I think is a really sweet idea. They make lovely keepsakes and my daughter loves that the ornaments have her name on.
There are lots of different options available from small businesses on Etsy, so you can chose something that won’t look out of place on your tree, depending on your Christmas decor style. The ornament shown below is really sweet looking and made from clay.

Cotton Twist Stocking Fillers
Cotton Twist is a fantastic British brand that creates plastic free crafty gifts for kids. I like to get my Christmas shopping done early, so I’ve already bought my daughter a make your own Angel Peg Doll. This will be a great activity for her to do over the Christmas break.
Cotton Twist also have a huge range of craft kits to make your own bracelets, keyrings and ornaments, along with personalised keep sake tins. I’ve also bought their rainbow bracelet making kit and ocean scene in the past, which would also make great stocking fillers.

Jack N’ Jill Toothpaste
Jack N’ Jill is an Australian company that make great natural toothpaste for kids. I like that their toothpaste is fluoride free and safe if it were to be swallowed.

Jack N’ Jill Toothbrush
Their toothbrushes are also a great sustainable option as they are plastic free and biodegradable. My kids have been using these toothbrushes for years. They last a long time and I like that the brush bristles are really soft. This is obviously a very practical gift, but still a nice item to include in an eco friendly stocking for kids.

Plastic Free Hair Ties
These hair ties are plastic and metal free and a great sustainable option for a kid’s stocking filler. They are made from organic cotton and natural rubber, so unlike normal elastic hair ties, they are completely biodegradable. They also come in a cute range of colours.

Handmade Playdough
If you’ve read any of my other gift guide blog posts, then you’ll already know that I’m a big fan of these tins of handmade playdough. As well as being great birthday presents and party favours for your child’s friends, they make perfect stocking fillers. The playdough itself is made with natural ingredients and is taste safe, should your little one be tempted to put any in their mouth!
Mums Memory Box on Etsy is my go to playdough seller. She has so many beautiful and creative designs, there’s something to suit all different interests. There are unicorns, mermaids, space, Bluey, under the sea and lots of other themes to choose from. Unfortunately they only ship within the UK currently. Use code ‘MUMS10’ for 10% off when you use my links below.

Silicone Reusable Drinking Straws
Silicone straws are a great alternative for kids and adults who may not get on so well using metal straws and prefer a reusable straw that can bend. These rainbow coloured straws are made with food grade silicone and are BPA free. They are great for kids parties, or just every day use.

Patch Bamboo Plasters
These plasters are another rather practical idea for a stocking filler. Most kids seem to love cute plasters, so why not include them! These plasters from Patch are made from organic bamboo fibre and contain coconut oil to aid healing. They are plastic free, biodegradable and Patch are a registered B Corp. My kids love the little panda design on these plasters.

Frugi Organic Cotton Socks
It’s always nice to be gifted a new pair of socks at Christmastime. These socks from Frugi are made from organic cotton and are nice and thick for the cooler winter months. I love the brightly coloured designs and I find Frugi is always great quality.

Klean Kanteen Drinks Bottle
My daughter has had her Klean Kanteen stainless steel drinks bottle for years now and it has proven to be extremely durable. Their bottles now use 90% recycled stainless steel and they are BPA free. There are lots of great designs to choose from. Depending on the age of your child, the screw cap lid can sometimes be hard to manage independently, so I would opt for one with a sippy cup lid.

Biodegradable Glitter
These sets of biodegradable glitter can be used for craft projects, or for wearing as make up. The glitter shown below is made from biodegradable cellulose film, as opposed to micro plastics, so you don’t have to feel too guilty about using this type of glitter. The packaging is also completely plastic free. It comes with a little pot of aloe vera gel and a bamboo brush, if you or your child did want to wear it as makeup for a party or special occasion.
If you are in the UK then the brand ‘Eco Glitter Fun’ is available from Peace With The Wild. If you are in the US then I have linked to something similar alternative below on Amazon.

Crayon Rocks & Honey Sticks
Crayon Rocks are a great non-toxic alternative to traditional (paraffin) wax crayons. They are easy to grip and are made from natural soy wax. The shape encourages children to use a tripod grip and they come in a beautiful range of colours. They are more expensive than normal crayons but they don’t tend to snap, which makes them far more durable.

I’ve also heard great things about Honey Sticks, which are made using beeswax and food grade colorants.

Etsy Tip
If you’ve made it this far I wanted to share a little Etsy tip with you. If you place an item in your Etsy shopping basket and wait a few hours before buying, quite often the seller will send you a discount code. So if you’re not in a hurry to buy something, it’s often worth waiting up to 24 hours to see if you receive a discount code to get some money off.
I hope this list has inspired you to include some eco friendly stocking fillers for your child this Christmas. If so, please consider PINNING FOR LATER!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
