What are 7 year olds interested in?
7 year olds are amazing! It’s a real sweet spot in childhood where they are very capable and can do a lot of things independently, but they are also still very innocent. Most 7 year olds have established hobbies and interests and will have developed favourite subjects at school.
They have very high energy levels and need to be able to move their bodies after periods of sitting throughout the day. They love asking questions about anything and everything!
Some 7 year olds will be able to tell the time. Most 7 year olds like to be sociable and friends are important to them. They are incredibly creative and love learning how to master new things. They have fantastic imaginations and are really very funny. What’s not to love about 7 year olds!
Admittedly not all 7 years will be into the same things, all children are different, but chances are they would enjoy at least one item on the list below.

School backpacks can face a lot of wear and tear. My daughter’s school bag is starting to look a bit tatty, so I’m planning on getting her a new one for Christmas. Backpacks make for a nice practical gift.

Story Orchestra Books
These interactive books are a wonderful way to introduce children to different pieces of classical music. There are little excerpts on each page that help to bring the story to life.

Famous Five Books
The Adventures of the Famous Five by Enid Blyton are great stories to read your child if you’ve started to transition into reading them chapter books. My daughter and I have really enjoyed reading these together recently.

This is another classic series of stories that follow the sweet and innocent adventures of a little girl that lives in the English countryside.
Little House on the Prairie Books
I am currently reading this series with my 8 year old daughter at bedtime and we both really look forward to being transported back in time to this family of American pioneers.
There are a few scary parts in some of the stories, so I would say these are more suitable for 7-8 year olds and above. However, this is wholesome family reading at it’s best.

Craft Box & Materials
It’s really handy to have a box to keep all of your child’s arts and crafts in one place. This craft box comes with an array of crafting supplies, but you can also buy just the box on its own.

Disney Teacup & Saucer
I gifted a lovely Disney Belle teacup and saucer set to my daughter last Christmas as an accompanying gift. Her main gift was Afternoon Tea for Two at a local hotel, which we visited together between Christmas and New Year.
